After my graduation, I took over the management of a laboratory of a medical device company and within a few years I was given the opportunity to be responsible for the entire quality management. In particular, the interactions, opportunities and challenges of people with systems, processes and technology fascinated me even then.

With increasing experience, I became aware of how important people are in the context of quality management and that they are the core aspect that keeps it alive. In this respect, my desire to deal even more intensively with the subject of personnel management developed. I asked myself the important questions „What do I have to do as a manager to lead the employees to achieve the company’s goals?“ and „How can I make these employees „burn“ emotionally?“.

When I moved from the medical device industry to the semiconductor industry, I transferred the knowledge from the management systems. Here, my management methods also worked very well. This was also confirmed when I moved to other employers in the automotive, mechanical engineering, chemicals/plastics, and renewable energies (wind energy) sectors.

I became aware that companies, regardless of what they produce, always face identical issues and challenges, but also have similarly unlimited opportunities. The difference is always only at the level of the manufactured products or services, but not at the management level.

Success with interim mandates and in responsible projects is not only based on managing tasks in a target-oriented way, but in my view also depends decisively on the ability, as a temporary manager, to establish the necessary processes in the mindset of the employees.
